Following graduation in History from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, Francis Clarke joined Cazenove and Co., spending five years as an analyst in the US department. In 1985 he transferred into Fund Management, specialising in Charities and Private Clients. In 1989 he moved to Fleming Private Asset Management, appointed Director in 1994, and assumed responsibility for the International Client desk from 1996. Following the takeover of Flemings in 2000, Francis joined Singer and Friedlander Investment Management, moving to Close in July 2006.
